MorisIntroduction: Caza has acquired the Moris exploration properties near the producing Moris gold mine in Chihuahua from Exmin Resources Inc. for 400,000 common shares of Caza and a 1% net smelter return royalty. Additionally Caza has options to purchase concessions within the Moris block specifically in the La Cienega-Balleza area and in the Tecolote area. The total land package covers 47,433 hectares. Property Description: Three general areas of historic mineralization, or subdistricts, are present: the Tecolote area in the northern part of the district, the El Pilar-Mesa de las Tunas area in the southeastern part of the district west of the Moris Pueblo, and the La Cienega-Balleza zone in the western part of the district. Caza controls significant portions of each of these subdistricts with several separate gold exploration target areas. Current Status A data review of the Moris District is planned for 2010 with the goal of identifying the best exploration targets in preparation for an expanded work program in 2011. Geology and Mineralization: The Tecolote vein system is exposed on the west side of the valley across from the Moris mine and is represented by a large area of intense high-level silicification on the La Fe concession, presently the subject of an option agreement. Several gold bearing veins are present over an area tens of meters wide and possibly up to two kilometers along strike. The El Pilar and La Cienega areas have provided most of the historic production from the Moris district. Multiple small mines have exploited high-grade ore shoots along structural zones several kilometers in length. Relatively narrow quartz veins have been mined in the past, but more recent work by several exploration companies has indicated the potential for bulk-tonnage precious metal mineralization in silicified zones and stockwork/breccia bodies adjacent to the structures. The La Cienega mineralized trend extends for more than seven kilometers and has had past production from several areas. The Balleza target lies on the northern end of the Cienega trend and consists of a wide breccia zone at the contact of a rhyolitic dike similar to the setting of the Dolores deposit of Minefinders. |
